Manchester United stunned Manchester City with a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory in the derby clash.

Trailing to Josko Gvardiol’s header, United’s fortunes changed dramatically in the 88th minute when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty, awarded after Matheus Nunes’ mistake.

Seconds later, Amad Diallo sealed the win with a stunning finish from a tight angle, sending the visiting fans into raptures. The defeat marked City’s third consecutive league loss, with only one win in 11 games across all competitions.

United, meanwhile, rose to 12th place in the table. The match was a scrappy, low-quality affair, with neither side showing much fluency. United manager Ruben Amorim made some bold decisions, leaving Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad.

City’s fans grew restless as the game wore on, but Gvardiol’s header in the 36th minute lifted the tension. However, United stayed in the game, and Fernandes should have equalized in the second half but his finish drifted wide.

City’s collapse began when Nunes made a terrible back pass, which Diallo seized upon. Nunes then compounded the error by hacking down Diallo, earning a penalty that Fernandes converted. The win was a massive boost for United, while City’s slump continues.
